2021

The theme of our ‘Arts Week’ this year is summer and will include a selection of art, dance, drama and music workshops and visitors.

Virtual Art Gallery

Each class focused on the life and work of a different artist before using them as inspiration to create their own artwork for our whole-school gallery.

We turned this incredible artwork into a virtual gallery for each class as it is not possible for us to invite parents into school at this time. All videos were uploaded to our school YouTube channel, shared with parents on our home learning platform ‘Showbie’ and all of the artwork will be displayed in our school hall until next year’s Arts Week.
We have our fingers crossed that all restrictions will be lifted by then!

Musical Talents

To kick off Arts Week this year, we had a variety of musical instrument demonstrations from a range of music specialists, including some of our staff, pupils and music tuition teachers showcasing their talents with the violin, trombones, flutes and drums. The aim of this was to show children the range of opportunities available to them in the new school year (once covid restrictions will hopefully be lifted completely).

Opera Singing

We were incredibly privileged to welcome West End opera singer, Daisy, along with our very own Mr Scott-Thomas into church today. Children across all year groups loved listening to Daisy’s incredible voice as well as learning a little bit more about the organ as a musical instrument (and not just the big thing we see in the corner of church).

FizzyTree Drama Workshops

Children from Nursery through to Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed taking part in FizzyTree Drama workshops. They got to act, sing and dance to a High School Musical hit linked to the upcoming summer holidays.
