Vision, Values and Ethos
OUR VISION
At Broughton Church of England Primary School, we value the individuality of every single person here. Our school is made from people who understand the importance of putting God at the centre of everything we do. We not only teach children to the highest educational standards but we teach them about God, life, friendships, and how to treat others. Our children carry themselves through life as kind and thoughtful people who put love and joy, our core school values, at the centre of everything they do.
Our vision is theologically rooted in Ecclesiastes 11:8
"Rejoice in every day of life"
"Light is sweet; how pleasant to see a new day dawning.
When people live to be very old, let them rejoice in every day of life. But let them also remember there will be many dark days. Everything still to come is meaningless.
Young people, it's wonderful to be young! Enjoy every minute of it. Do everything you want to do; take it all in. But remember that you must give an account to God for everything you do. So refuse to worry, and keep your body healthy. But remember that youth, with a whole life before you, is meaningless."
At Broughton, we know that life is full of ups and downs.
There are going to be lots of moments of joy for our children, families and staff and we celebrate in every single one of them. It could be making a friend smile, winning an award, taking part in an activity or experiencing the awe and wonder of God's incredible world.
We are equally aware that there will be moments of sadness which are just as important as they allow us to find our true strength and resilience.
"Rejoice in every day of life", shows that we should appreciate the present and every aspect and emotion that comes with the joy of living.
