Supporting your child with Spanish at home
Parents can help support Spanish learning in simple ways at home:
Use language apps or websites such as Duolingo, BBC Bitesize or Quizlet.
Listen to Spanish songs or watch television and films in Spanish.
Label objects around the house with Spanish words.
Ask your child to teach you new words they have learned in class.
Practise simple greetings and counting in Spanish together.
Día de la Cultura Hispana
Broughton held a celebration of Hispanic culture, exploring Bolivia, Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Spain. We learned about history, music, dance, art and more. The children enjoyed tasting different foods.
Spanish Club Día del Amor y la Amistad
To mark Valentine's Day, we wrote cards to our loved ones celebrating 'love and friendship'.
Spanish Club Christmas Party
This week, we held our Year 2 Spanish Club Christmas party! We invited all of the children who have taken part in Spanish club since September. We enjoyed musical statues to Spanish music, watched the Lego nativity in Spanish, and watched the procession of Los Reyes throughout Spanish cities.
Feliz Navidad!
