Children in UKS2 have been exploring some key art periods/movements throughout history from pre historical cave paintings to the modern day spray paintings of Banksy.

Children in Nursery have been learning all about the number 1!
KS1




Year 1 used the skills they have learnt in art this term to create their own Egg Box Dragons. The children used a variety of tools and techniques to create their paintings. Year 1 used a variety of brush sizes - selecting suitable brushes for the ares they were painting and used different types of paint including watercolour paints, poster paints and sand paint. Year 1 also tried layering using watercolours, they were very pleased with the results of their work.

Nursery spent the morning exploring how paint can be added to paper using different object, including vegetables!
LKS2






Year 3/4 have spent this term exploring the work of Henri Matisse while developing their understanding and knowledge of colour and paint. They applied all that they had learnt to produce their own circus-themed paintings in the style of Matisse using colour washes, colour blocking, textures and effects.
KS1
Yew Class have been experimenting with mixing primary and secondary colours to create exciting background colour washes.
