Art History Timelines

Key artists and art movements (prehistoric art to contemporary art) have been added to class timelines in every KS2 classroom.

In LKS2, these reflect what the children have learnt about in EYFS and KS1, as well as the learning which will take place throughout Year 3 and Year 4.

In UKS2, these reflect what the children have learnt about in EYFS, KS1 and LKS2, as well as the learning which will take place throughout Year 5 and Year 6.

Special Artwork

During Arts Week, Blake in Year 3 brought into school some amazing artwork created by his uncle who works as a professional artist and sculptor. What fantastic talent!!

LKS2 - Christian Art

Children used a variety of pencils, chalk, oil pastels and watercolours to create their own Christian artwork.

Rev. Pauline took Year 3 around church to explore some of the Christian art, including stained glass windows, sculpture, lights and woodwork. They are going to use what they have seen as inspiration for some of their own artwork.

LKS2 - English Multi-Modal Writing

Year 3 and Year 4 have been reading ‘The Pebble in my Pocket’. They picked our some of their favourite words and phrases and added them to their own volcano artwork. 🌋

During ‘Outdoor and Adventurous Week’, children across KS2 used natural materials to create their own outdoor art.

Whole School - Lockdown Sketching Challenge

Throughout lockdown, children took part in a weekly sketching challenge with a winner from each class being announced every Friday. Each week had a different focus (self-portraits, animals, nature, food, etc.) and these are just a handful of the winning entries.
