What a Season so far! - 9th March

The Girls Football team are on fire this season. They have played a lot of friendlies and have even played two matches against a Year 7 (High School) team and only narrowly lost on both occasions.

The team had four fixtures/events before February half term and they were season defining, how did they do. Read the Match reports below for full details:

Mr. Bird's thoughts: Girls, you have been brilliant this whole season, I can't believe how much you have come on. What a two weeks you had before the half term break! (Feb 2018) You won both league matches 4-0 and are running away with the league, also winning a really tough quarter final against Blessed Sacrament. Then, on the 6th March, you only went and won 5-0 against St Joseph's. Finalists in the inaugural Dick Kerr Ladies Cup, hopefully to be played at Deepdale, the home of Preston North End!!

Below are our latest pictures and match reports:

Tuesday 6th March was the biggest match of the season for the Girls’ Football team. They were in the Semi-Final of the first ever Dick Kerr Ladies’ Cup for Under 11 Girls in Preston. The team’s preparations had been slightly hampered the week before as the weather was just too cold for us to do any training. Even though the weather wasn’t great, the spirits were certainly not dampened. We ran out 5-0 winners and are now into the final!! Read the attached report for full details of events.

Well done to all the team from Mr. Bird.

On Friday 9th February we played our Dick Kerr Ladies Cup Quarter Final Match vs Blessed Sacrament. (Girls' Football, 7-a-side.) We were determined to get the fixture played before half term as we had to re-arrange after Tuesday's unexpected snowfall, and they were the rules! The girls played out of their skin and played some really attractive football. We ran out 4-2 victors and are now in the Semi-Finals, potentially one match away from playing Preston North End! No pressure! Haha. A special mention must go to Bayla-Rose Smart who never stopped running for 30 minutes and ended up scoring a hat trick (3 goals!).
