Year 3 and 4 Open Gymnastics Competition – Friday 16th June|
Friday 16th June was the day of the annual Year 3 and 4 Open Gymnastics Competition at the City of Preston Gym Club. We took a team of 5: Oliver Heath, Oliver Swindlehurst, Darcy Hawthorne, Isabel Heath and Annabel Cutting. The children were excited to go out and perform. We were one of 12 schools in the competition. Thanks to Mrs Simpson (the parent), the children had be getting prepared and learning routines for a couple of months by now. They were prepared J. The practice certainly paid off as every single one of them smashed the vault and scored well over 8.5 each! Then, the floor, once again, they were spotless all round. In the end, they were rewarded with an excellent 3rd place and we have brought home more medals and trophies. The children were an absolute credit to our school, they performed with passion, pride and a smile on their faces. Well done to all and another huge thanks to all the parents who came along to support our team, again, like the good old days J. Mr. Bird.
Also, we took three children in the individual event, as they did more than one hour a week outside of school, so couldn’t be in the team. They did the same disciplines and were outstanding. They were Eva Hughes (Y3), Lewis Simpson and William Hall. Lewis finished 1st in the boys individual and William 2nd in the boys individual.
